Range roll-out at scale
Line extensions delivered from a single master art across markets and print processes, so every variant stays true to the original separation.
A global brand owner across food, beverage and home care was adding variants faster than any single studio could absorb: new flavours, new sizes, new markets, each arriving with its own deadline and its own version of the artwork.

Where it started
A global brand owner across food, beverage and home care was adding variants faster than any single studio could absorb: new flavours, new sizes, new markets, each arriving with its own deadline and its own version of the artwork.
The masters existed, but not as a system. Variants were rebuilt from whichever file was nearest to hand, so a change to a legal line meant finding every place it had been copied to.
The brief was volume without drift: hold the master, inherit everything else, and keep a trail back from any pack on shelf to the file it came from.
How the programme ran
Four years, ongoingOne master per format
Every pack format reduced to a single approved master, technically engineered, with regulated elements locked.
Inheritance, not rebuilds
Variants built by adaptation only. Copy and legal swaps checked against source documents rather than against the previous variant.
Version control per SKU
Change logs per SKU, so any pack can be traced to its master and to the change that produced it.
“Volume stopped being the constraint. The programme now moves at the pace our approvals move, which is the pace it should have moved at all along.”
Global Packaging Manager, brand ownerWhat changed in practice
Masters are locked, not shared
Regulated elements live in the master and cannot be edited downstream. Adaptations inherit them and cannot quietly diverge.
Copy comes from source
Legal and nutrition text is checked against the source document every time, never against the last variant that used it.
Capacity is elastic
The studio flexes from a handful of artworks a day to over a hundred without changing the process or the checkers.
Every SKU is traceable
Change logs mean a query about a pack on shelf is answered from the record, not from memory.
